Samuel Terry Asset Management is a boutique
investment management company based in Sydney. The company was
established in April 2004,
and is majority owned by the family trust of Fred Woollard.
We manage a fund, the Samuel Terry Absolute Return Fund, that invests
in a portfolio of equity and debt securities in Australia and internationally.
Our objective is to generate double-digit annual returns for our
clients, while trying to minimise the risk of permanent loss of their
capital. |
Our people
Fred Woollard - Founder & Managing Director
Fred has worked in the stockbroking
and funds management industry for over 20 years. He started in
the stockbroking industry in Sydney. From 1989-1998 he worked in
London and Monaco as an investment analyst and fund manager for
a wealthy private individual, and entities associated with that
person. In 2000 Fred led an unsuccessful campaign to demutualise
Standard Life,
which was, at that time, the UK’s third largest
life assurance company. Later in 2000, Fred joined
Hunter Hall,
a successful Australian investment manager, as its London director.
In April 2003, Fred returned to Australia and left Hunter
Hall
to establish his own business.
Fred has an Economics degree from the University
of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Fred has completed the AICD's Company Director's Course.

Tim Cole - Non-Executive
Director
Tim is a Local Participant of the Sydney
Futures Exchange and an active private investor.
He has previously worked in stockbroking and as a Proprietary Trader
for a futures
trading firm.
Tim has an Associate Diploma in Accounting and a
graduate degree from the Financial Services Institute of Australia. |

Brendan Howell - Compliance Manager
Brendan has 19 years’ experience in the financial services and funds management industry. For the past 10 years, Brendan has been directly involved with MIA Services a company which specialises in funds management compliance.
Brendan acts as an independent consultant and external compliance committee member for a number of property, equity and infrastructure fund managers, and is also an independent director for several unlisted public companies, some of which act as responsible entities.
Brendan has a property and accounting background, and from the period 1990 to 1998 held senior positions with a leading Australian trustee company administering listed and unlisted property trusts.
Brendan has a Bachelor of Economic (majoring in Accounting and Economics) from the University of Sydney and a Diploma in Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. He was formerly an associate member of both the Securities Institute of Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
